Jemima
As a nine year old cat Jemima was much less playful and sociable than when she was younger – something her family put down to her advancing years. It was probably just as well because her breath was extremely smelly, making close contact a little unpleasant ….. until Jemima was brought into Parkvets.
General Practitioner Amy Hague noted immediately that Jemima’s mouth was in a bad way and that the malodorous breath and red gums were signs of general decay and disease. In discussion it transpired that Jemima had in fact had these problems for a few years and whilst anti-biotics had been given at intervals, the heart of the matter had never been addressed. Parkvets’ dental specialist, Andy Perry, subsequently removed all of Jemima’s teeth and made sure that nay disease was eliminated. Very quickly Jamima was eating normally and ready to go home.
Some while later her family had reason to bring Jemima back into Parkvets and commented to the vet that Jemima seemed to have a whole new lease of life and was like a different cat. “We thoughts she was just getting older, but now we can see she was in constant paid. Now we have our old Jemima back and she is enjoying life – and cuddles – to the full.”
